What made you write a motivational book with the rose as the theme?
I usually write historical fiction because I love the research part of it. However, writing about roses is not new to me. I know the subject matter very well and have won awards for my rose articles so why not put some of those articles in a book. I’ve been writing about them before I even wrote my first historical novel. Writing a nonfiction is quite different than writing a fiction. It is a new genre for me but I feel comfortable to tackle this new challenge.
I feel great and is very healthy at almost 75 with lots of energy and most importantly I’m not on any prescription drug. I have not seen a doctor for five years. I’m the living proof that my motivational tips work for a healthy and active lifestyle. It works for me and it should work for you too.
That’s how the idea of writing a motivational/rose book started. The difficult part of it was looking for photos of the roses I wanted to describe. Some of my rose photos were stored in my computer but last year my computer conked out and I lost my photo files. So my only recourse was to go to my sent emails which I never deleted and looked for copies of the newsletters I edited and some blogs I wrote years ago in another site. I tried to recollect some of my growing experience with a particular rose.
Until next time. Stop and Smell the Roses! Stay healthy!!
